This optional service is being developed with a tailoring partner. Final prices, alteration limits, fit allowances, availability, and policies will be confirmed before orders open.
How it works—from measuring to delivery
- Choose your starting sizes. Select your top and pants separately, then choose Essential Fit or Precision Fit.
- Follow the guided measurement form. Illustrated instructions show where and how to measure. Measurements will be linked to your order and checked for units and reasonable ranges.
- McCoy sets the garment targets. We apply the approved fit allowances and choose the closest base sizes that can be altered.
- You approve the measurement summary. Confirm the target finished-garment measurements before any tailoring begins.
- Your set is professionally altered. The tailoring partner works from an exact adjustment ticket.
- We check the finished measurements. McCoy verifies the completed garments against the approved ticket before packing and shipping.
Proposed additional turnaround: 7–14 business days. Timing is subject to tailoring-partner confirmation.
Measurement submission and ordering will open when the service is ready.
Your body measurements become garment measurements
A comfortable fit needs room to move. McCoy adds an approved allowance for each fabric and garment area, rather than tailoring every measurement directly to your body.
Body measurement + McCoy fit allowance = target garment measurement
Illustrative examples—not final fit specifications| Measurement | Body / desired | Allowance | Garment target |
|---|
| Chest | 44 in | +4 in | 48 in |
|---|
| Top waist | 39 in | +4 in | 43 in |
|---|
| Pant seat | 42 in | +3 in | 45 in |
|---|
| Desired inseam | 30.5 in | None | 30.5 in |
|---|
Final allowances must be calibrated from approved production samples and fit testing.
What can be adjusted?
Changes stay within approved limits and preserve the garment’s pocket systems and technical construction.
- Pant inseam and controlled leg-opening changes
- Minor reductions at the pant waist, seat, thigh, knee, or calf
- Top chest, waist, sweep, or sleeve-opening reductions
- Top body length and sleeve length
- Independent top and pant starting sizes
Outside the initial service
Neckline or raglan-shoulder redesign; pocket relocation; gusset, waistband, or rise reconstruction; enlarging dimensions without sufficient seam allowance; and changes beyond approved limits.
What changes after tailoring?
No ordinary size exchange after alteration. You approve the final measurement targets before work begins. If the tailoring falls outside those confirmed specifications, McCoy corrects the work.
The normal construction warranty remains in effect. Precision Fit also proposes one reasonable correction where technically possible.
The treatment of tailored orders under the standard wear trial and the complete alteration terms will be confirmed before purchase.
