Why McCoy exists
We’ve worn the scrubs.
We wanted better.
Mark McCoy · Founder · Registered nurse
After 13 years as an RN, I was tired of scrubs that felt boxy, trapped heat, rubbed in the wrong places, and wore out sooner than they should. A coworker summed it up: “We wear trash bags with sleeves.”
I kept asking: Why can’t my scrub pants feel like my regular pants? Why should getting dressed for work mean giving up comfort, fit, and freedom to move?
I was tired of spending every shift in scrubs I couldn’t wait to take off. McCoy began with a simple goal: make the scrubs I’d actually want to keep wearing.
Meet the founder
I’m Mark McCoy, a registered nurse. Before starting McCoy, I spent years wearing scrubs whose fit, materials, and construction left me frustrated. Men’s options often felt like an afterthought—especially when “unisex” meant a square shape that didn’t fit the men I worked with.
I wanted comfort, a fit built around a man’s frame, and room to move. I wanted materials that felt better throughout a shift, with less heat buildup and rubbing. Those frustrations became the goals behind the design.
My experience began in nursing, but McCoy is for men wherever the job calls for scrubs: hospitals, clinics, dental and veterinary practices, labs, and beyond.
